While one of the world’s most recognised brands, Shell realised it needed to be more emotionally engaging so we developed a brand metaphor to build new associations, beyond the logo. Shell’s positioning as a producer of all forms of natural energy was captured in ‘Shell in, on, under and across the sea’ and through the launch of ‘Picture Shell’ – a competition for emerging professional photographers – building a library of creative images for a new visual language.
